Foil is when you are multiplying two terms in one parentheses with two terms in another. "F" in foil means to multiply the first term in the first parentheses with the first term in the second parentheses. "O" means to multiply the two terms that are on the outside of each parentheses. "I" means to multiply the two terms that are towards the inside of the two parentheses. "L" means to multiply the last two terms in each parentheses. Then combine any like terms together.
